What’s the big deal about taking Christ out of Christmas? Was Christ born on Christmas day? What is Christmas all about?

December 18, 2009 in Christian, Radio Show by cool-like-that

The word Christmas is being debated by both Christians and Non-Christians.

Non-Christians feel that:

  1. 1. Society is bias in allowing a Christian inspired holiday to be celebrated to other religions
  2. 2. The word Christ in Christmas is acknowledging that there is God and atheist and the ALU believe it’s forcing religion on people
  3. 3. There should be a separation of church and state Asian countries celebrate Christmas, but there is no thought, actions or remembrance of anything related to Christ so many feel America should move to this separations of Christ and Christmas
  4. 4. “Christians who attempt to build a Christian fence around Christmas, protecting it from secular and non-Christian influence, actually give the impression of stinginess and hostility towards the non-Christian world.” Raymond Lawrence
  5. 5. “It is time to take Christ out of Christmas, and encourage the whole world to celebrate the renewal of the life-giving sun (in the northern hemisphere at least) through candle light, the cutting of greens, and gift-giving, and to show generosity to others, especially to those in need. None of these activities require one to be a Christian, nor even to understand anything about Christianity.” Raymond Lawrence

Some Christians believe it’s not a big deal because:

  1. 1. Christmas has nothing to do with Christ, it’s not proven he was born on Christmas day
  2. 2. God is in the believer heart and Christmas is a man made holiday that celebrate greed
  3. 3. Christmas is not in the bible, it’s offenses to some so why not circularize it

There is a laundry list of arguments from both sides of the fence on why CHRIST should be taken out of Christmas. What’s the Big Deal!!!!!! Over 2000 years ago, the greatest gift ever was given to us in the most humblest of circumstances. God used ordinary people whom He favored, to bring not only salvation to His people, but glory to Him. We celebrate Christmas which is symbolic/a reminder of the birth of Christ. The devil has distorted this celebration and now trying to take its symbolic meaning away. Our spiritual eyes need to be opened! When the attempt to get prayer out of school, the legalization of same sex marriage, the removal of God and anything associated with the bible removed from federal or state buildings our eyes were closed. Many said then what’s the big deal! Look at the increase of unusual crime, the public school problems, and we can go on and on. This nation is moving toward a Godless society and if you are a bible student, it is clear of a nation’s future when its back is turned away from Jesus!!! No one is suggesting that the spreading of the gospel is obsolete if Christ is taking out of Christmas.

But you should ask yourself, if there is no evil agenda, what’s the big deal with Christ being a part of the word Christmas?
